Day 1


Welcome to New England! Check in to the Hampton Inn in Chicopee, MA near Springfield for the night, which features an indoor pool and welcome reception.

Your included Dinner this evening will be at a Local Favorite

Day 2

After your included breakfast at the hotel this morning you can sit back and relax for your travel to the White Mountains of New Hampshire which will be turning red and gold during foliage season!

Your first stop will be Lunch on own with free time to explore the village shops and galleries in Wolfeboro, a classic lakeside village - America's first resort!

Your next stop is Castle in the Clouds with sweeping views of the foliage and New Hampshire's largest lake. Located on a small mountaintop, the estate built in 1914 has been restored. Take the narrated trolley ride to the summit where you'll have time to explore the two-story mansion and castle grounds at your own pace.

Next you will relive the romance of dining on the rails aboard the Cafe Lafayette Dinner Train. Board a beautifully restored vintage Pullman railroad car and enjoy a leisurely two-hour evening ride among the lush New England forest and magnificent mountain vistas accompanied by an elegant five course feast.

Then you will check in for a three-night stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Lincoln - your home in the heart of the White Mountains. The hotel features an indoor pool, whirlpool, rooms with 2QQ or 1 king bed with microwave and mini-fridge.

Day 3

After your included breakfast, meet your local guide for a full day touring New Hampshire's spectacular Mt. Washington Valley. Your tour will start in Franconia Notch where you'll hear stories about this interesting region - and ride on the Cannon Mountain Tram. The 80 passenger tram takes you to the summit where you'll want your camera ready for the panoramic views of mountains and valleys - and four states on a clear day!

Continue to Bethlehem and Bretton Woods, where you'll see the famous Mt. Washington Hotel and hear the history of this ski region and its politics. Pass through Crawford Notch with its dramatic foliage views and into North Conway village.

Have lunch on your own in North Conway with its collection of shops and restaurants centered around the village green overlooking the Moat mountains. Don't miss the old-fashioned 5 & Dime here!

This afternoon, stop for a covered bridge photo and then across the Kancamagus Highway, one of America's most scenic by-ways where you are likely to spot a moose! "The Kanc" twists and turns through the White Mountain National Forest with fabulous scenery at every turn.

Refresh back at the hotel for dinner included this evening in Lincoln.

Day 4

Breakfast included at the hotel before your day exploring the pristine New Hampshire Lakes Region.

First, you'll visit one of the nation's important Shaker communities, the Canterbury Shaker Village. Your guided tour allows you to watch skilled artisans re-create the traditional Shaker crafts.

Cruise on New Hampshire's largest lake on board a replica steamship, the M/S Mount Washington. You'll travel one way from Weirs Beach to the resort community of Wolfeboro. A bountiful buffet lunch is included on board the large vessel.

Next you will visit the Wright Museum of WWII History. Historically accurate exhibits bring to life the American experience on the Homefront from 1939-1945. You'll enjoy the interactive experience with music and memorabilia along with military vehicles.

Dinner included at Harts Turkey Farm Restaurant -a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings - before returning to the hotel in Lincoln.

Day 5

Breakfast included at the hotel before making your way up over the mountains to the Granite State of Vermont. Situated between 120-mile-long Lake Champlain to the west and the Connecticut River to the east, Vermont is as well known for its sparkling water as for its 4,000-foot-high Green Mountains.

Your first stop is Montpelier, the largest producer of maple syrup in the U.S. You'll enjoy a sweet tour of one of the local Sugarhouses, complete with a local maple snack!

Have lunch on your own at a Local Favorite.

This afternoon, tour the Rock of Ages Museum and take a step-on guided tour of the world's largest, active granite quarry, offering breathtaking views of a 100 year old, 600 foot deep Smith Quarry. Lean how the beautiful Barre granite is cut, polished and hand-sculpted and take a sample home

A welcome reception awaits at your hotel this evening - the lovely Lake Morey Resort in Fairlee, Vermont. All the guestrooms are within a hundred feet of the Lake - with a mix of lake and garden views.

Enjoy an included dinner in the lakefront dining room, followed by a bonfire with s'mores! (If weather is inclement, there will be a showing of On Golden Pond in the in-house movie theater instead of bonfire).

Day 6

A buffet breakfast is included at the resort before making your way across Vermont - through the Green Mountains today.

Visit Quechee Gorge State Park, known as "Vermont's Little Grand Canyon" for a photo.

Head to the Springfield MA area to drop off luggage at your hotel for the evening before traveling a short distance to The Big E, the largest fair in the Northeast! It is home to The Big E Cream Puff & Craz-E Burger. It's a New England extravaganza with top name entertainment, The Big E Super Circus, The Avenue of States, Storrowton Village Museum, animals, competitive exhibits, rides, shopping, crafts, a daily parade and a Mardi Gras parade, and foods from around the world. You will enjoy free time at the fair for fun and food!

The Big E Grande Parade features seven spectacular, custom-built Mardi Gras floats direct from New Orleans. Along the Avenue of States, full-size buildings, modeled after each original state capitol, grace the broad boulevard enticing fairgoers inside to sample everything each has to offer. Within historic Storrowton Village, visitors will find an authentic 19th century American township of buildings gathered from throughout New England and reconstructed around a traditional village green with antique craftmaking and demonstrations, children's games, special programs and guided tours of buildings.

Head West to check in to the Hampton Inn in Chicopee, MA near Springfield for the night.

Day 7

A buffet breakfast is included before making your way to The Mount, Edith Wharton's Estate in Lenox MA for a Home & Garden Tour. The Mount is a turn of the century home, designed and built by Edith Wharton in 1902. A National Historic Landmark today, The Mount is a cultural center that celebrates the intellectual, artistic and humanitarian legacy of Edith Wharton.

Travel a short distance to Stockbridge MA to grab lunch on your own and explore the quaint downtown before traveling home with your colorful New England memories!
