Spring is a lovely time to visit the Great Lake State of Michigan. This charming tour will start out with some time in Frankenmuth, MI. Known as Little Bavaria Frankenmuth is a German-inspired tourist destination. With a stay at the Bavarian Inn Frankenmuth, you will be right in the center of the celebration on Main Street, surrounded by Franconian style shops and restaurants. No visit to Frankenmuth would be complete without a visit to Bronners Christmas World. Other planned attractions include a pretzel making experience, wine tasting, town tour, a Riverboat cruise on the Bavarian Bell (pending availability) and of course a famous chicken dinner.
It is then on to Mackinac Island. The group will take a ferry to the island and travel by carriage as no motor vehicles are allowed on the quaint island. With a stay at the Grand Hotel, guests will be able to explore the island at their leisure or enjoy the beautiful hotel amenities. Chose to enjoy Afternoon Tea in the Parlor. Croquet and bocce in the Tea Garden. Dressing up for dinner and nightly dancing to the sounds of the Grand Hotel Orchestra. Sitting in a rocking chair on the worlds longest porch with views of the Straits of Mackinac. Located on Northern Michigans Mackinac Island, Grand Hotel beckons you to a bygone era of old-world hospitality and charm. After taking the ferry back to the mainland, it will be on to Detroit. Learn about the history of the famous Motown Musicians with a visit to the Motown Museum. The Motown Museum is home to iconic Hitsville U.S.A., Studio A, and an extensive array of Motown artifacts, photographs, apparel and memorabilia. The final stop will be at the Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village to explore their collection of authentic artifacts and stories of America's ingenuity and innovation.

Day 1
Travel to Frankenmuth, MI with lunch (on own) and comfort stops en route.
Known as "Little Bavaria", Frankenmuth is a German-inspired tourist destination.
Upon arrival, we will check-in to the Bavarian Inn. Dinner is included at the hotel restaurant this evening.
The evening is yours to choose:
-Stay in and relax (Drury Kickback served 5:30-7:00 PM with a rotating menus of fresh, hot food and beer, wine and mixed drinks-all included in our stay!)
-Explore the shops and restaurants nearby-walkable from the hotel.
Day 2
Explore Frankenmuth!
This morning, we'll visit Bronner's Christmas World. From humble beginnings in 1945, Bronner's CHRISTmas Wonderland has grown to become the World's Largest Christmas store. Also included today is a tour of Frankenmuth, a pretzel rolling class, and experience a German Beer Tasting.
Find something to meet your hunger on your own downtown Frankenmuth and explore the shops in the afternoon and enjoy a ride on the Bavarian Bell. Take time to explore the quant shops downtown before regrouping at the hotel for a delicious dinner.
Day 3
After breakfast at the hotel, we're off to Mackinac Island! Arrivin mid-day, we'll take a ferry to the island. Upon arrival on Mackinac Island, we'll be transported to The Grand Hotel via horse-drawn taxi. Following lunch at the Grand Hotel, we'll set out on a carriage tour of the island. The evening is yours to enjoy.

Day 4
Have Breakfast at The Grand Hotel (included) before departing on horse drawn taxis to tour Fort Mackinac. After the tour, enjoy the day on your own at this beautiful resort and island! Enjoy an elegant dinner tonight at The Grand (formal attire required: dresses, skirts, blouses, dress sweaters, and dress slacks for ladies are preferred, while gentlemen are required to wear a suit coat, necktie, and dress pants).

Relax this morning with breakfast at the hotel before crossing back to the main land. We'll travel to Detroit with a lunch stop (on own) en route. Visit the Motown Museum upon arrival to the Detroit area. Enjoy the hotel / dinner (own own) at your leisure today.

After a visit to the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. Time for lunch on own. we'll head home with dinner (on own) and comfort stops en route.

The Grand Hotel:
Main Dining Room
Breakfast is casual attire currently and is served Plated/Buffet style depending on the occupancy in-house. Lunch Buffet is served daily. Dinner is formal and rotates between 3 different menus with a 5-course meal: Appetizer, Soup, Salad, Entree, Dessert. Guests need to show their guest cards when at the Main Dining Room as this is proof that they are a Grand Guest and part of a meal plan.
Grand Coffee & Provisions: Located on the Lobby Level with grab & go food items.
Terrace Room (Ballroom) provides nightly music from our Grand Hotel Orchestra from 9:30PM - 11:00PM.
Concierge: (9am-5pm) can help answer Qs about the hotel & island and create reservations for island excursions.
Bobs History Lectures/Tours: If the guests want to attend one of our historians' lectures/tours on their own vs with the whole group, they can stop by the concierge desk to see what we have available the day of. Group Lectures/Tours need to be booked through me directly 1 month in advance.

After 6:30 PM (formal attire only the Parlor Level) dresses, skirts, blouses, dress sweaters, and dress slacks for ladies are preferred, while gentlemen are required to wear a suit coat, necktie, and dress pants (no denim or shorts).
Housekeeping: We are back to our daily housekeeping service, with turndown service (this excludes rooms marked Do Not Disturb). There are fridges and coffee makers in all the rooms.
