History of the PHS Philadelphia Flower Show

 

The PHS Philadelphia Flower Show is both the nation's largest and the world’s longest-running horticultural event, featuring stunning displays by premier floral and landscape designers from around the globe. Started in 1829 by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, the Show introduces diverse and sustainable plant varieties and garden and design concepts. In addition to acres of garden displays, the Flower Show hosts esteemed competitions in horticulture and artistic floral arranging, gardening presentations and demonstrations, and special events.

Can I leave and return to the Flower Show during my visit?

• Yes! There will be hand-stamping stations at each exit to allow for daily re-entry. No re-entry after exiting the Show

without a hand stamp.

 

Can I bring food into the Show or will there be food and drink available at the Flower Show?

• Visitors are prohibited from bringing food into the venue. Concessions with varied menu items that meet almost all dietary needs (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kid-friendly, nondairy, etc) are available throughout the Show, and at a number of eating establishments around the Convention Center.

• Hydration stations will be available throughout the Show for guests to refill their personal water bottles, and these will be marked on the Flower Show map.

 

Is there a coat check at the venue?

• Yes! The location of the Flower Show coat check (and item check) is located in Room 204 C, on the Concourse area of the Convention Center, in between the main exhibit area and the Grand Hall. Please note the coat check is CASH ONLY  for all items. Guests are encouraged to have cash available, or to use ATMs within the Convention Center and near the venue.

 

Personal Bag Policy

• In an effort to expedite entry, guests are only allowed to bring purses, medical bags, and diaper bags into the Flower Show within the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Coolers, other large bags, and wheeled bags are not permitted. Approved bags (purses, medical bags, and diaper bags) can be no larger than 16”x16”x8,” and will be subject to inspection upon entry. Guests may discard or return the prohibited items to their vehicles. Any confiscated items will not be returned to the owner.

 

No Smoking/Vaping

• The Philadelphia Flower Show is a smoke-free environment, as is the entire Pennsylvania Convention Center. Smoking and vaping are prohibited within Show property.

 

Accessibility Information

• The grounds of the Show are accessible via wheelchairs, motorized scooters, strollers, and walkers. Flower Show guest map handouts as well as onsite signage will delineate ADA ramps and restroom locations.

 

Mobility Equipment Rentals

• Mobility equipment will be available in the Convention Center outside of Hall A/Main Exhibits area. We reccomend reserving mobility equipment prior to your visit.
